JK Lon: No Cardiologist In Jk Lon To Operate 2-d Echo Machine | Jaipur News

Jaipur: For the past one month paediatric patients with heart diseases have not been getting regular facility at JK Lon Hospital for 2-D Echo (two-dimensional Echocardiogram) which uses ultrasound waves to assess the functioning of the heart due to lack of a cardiologist to operate it. Earlier, there were two trained staff for operating a 2D Echo machine but one of them retired recently, and the other doctor, who is a paediatrician, has to manage other clinical works along with operating the 2-D Echo machine.
The JK Lon Hospital on Tuesday wrote to principal and controller SMS Medical College Dr Rajeev Bagarhatta regarding the problem.
“We have written to the principal about the issue and requested him to deploy a cardiologist to operate the 2-D Echo machine so that children can avail the regular facilities here in the hospital,” said Dr Kailash Meena, medical superintendent, JK Lon hospital.
Besides, Dr Meena is making efforts to develop a separate paediatric cardiology department in the hospital. “The increasing pollution, use of pesticides in food is responsible for cardiac diseases. With the increasing number of children requiring cardiology treatment, we have demanded a separate paediatric cardiology department in JK Lon Hospital from the state government. The department has been sanctioned,” said Dr Meena. tnn
