Jaipur: The Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) officials are planning to regularise the vacant lands – those belongs to the civic bodies – located on both sides of the JLN Marg. Officials stated, for years these lands are lying vacant and illegal encroachments are taking place on this land.
“We had started calculating the area of these vacant lands, status of these lands and the present market value of the lands. A few of these lands had been an encroached. The enforcement department would take proper actions to make these lands free from any encroachments,” said a JDA official.
In 2002 the Urban Development and Housing (UDH) Department had issued a regulation policy for colonies on both sides of Jawaharlal Nehru Marg in 2002. As per the policy, lands located on 200 feet strips on both sides of the JLN Marg – between Mahaveer Garden and Jawahar Circle – belongs to JDA. The civic body would utilize these lands for various commercial activities.
Accordingly, JDA had constructed a few residential colonies, a private hospital and shopping malls and commercial buildings on these lands. However, several plots of lands remained unutilised for the last 20 years and a few of them had been encroached upon. TNN
