JMC demolition notices: Mansarovar markets to shut till afternoon today | Jaipur News
JAIPUR: In protest against the notices sent by JMC-Greater to more than 460 families living in Mansarovar for demolishing of illegal properties within seven days, traders in the area will keep their shops closed on Monday till afternoon.
On Sunday, more than 500 traders from Mansarovar Vyapar Mandal Sangharsh Samiti met to decide their course of action. The JMC Greater administration had on Wednesday sent notices as per the instructions of the high court. The notices said that if illegal constructions are not removed within seven days, the corporation will take action to remove them.
In the meeting, Sanganer MLA Ashok Lahoty said, “The state government did not represent the traders properly in court. This is not a place to do politics, as lives of so many traders are involved. I will be there with the traders, and I will not wear garlands till the matter is resolved. Traders can go to the settlement committee; it is their right.”
He further said that due to the order, more than 1.5 lakh shops in Jaipur city will be affected and about 10 lakh shops in Rajasthan.
Congress leader Pushpendra Bharadwaj also met the traders on Sunday and assured them that he will meet the ministers concerned to discuss the matter.
