Jaipur: After the bail of nine members of Rajasthan Berojgar Ekikrit Mahasangh, the group on Saturday announced the launch of ‘Yuva Evam Jagriti Abhiyan’ in the state from July 5 to October 2. From October 2 to January 2, they will burn effigies of Congress leaders as a mark of protest against the state government and from January 2, they will organise a ‘Congress-mukt abhiyaan’ in districts and tehsils.
The unemployed youths will launch these campaigns against the state government protesting its failure to fulfil their demands. “Every time the Congress government made a promise to unemployed youths, they broke it subsequently. When youths hit the streets on June 14 and 16 to remind the government of their promises, they were sent to jail. They registered four cases against unemployed youths,” said Upen Yadav, president, Rajasthan Berojgar Ekikrit Mahasangh.
“However, on June 16, when under the leadership of PCC chief Govind Singh Dotasara, the Congress party gheraoed Raj Bhavan, the police did not register a single case against them,” he added.
As many as 84 people were detained for protesting outside the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) office under the banner of Rajasthan Berozgar Ekikrit Mahasangh (RBEM). Later, barring nine unemployed youths including president of the Mahasangh Upen Yadav, the rest were granted bail by the court. They were under Sections 353, 282, 143, 188 of IPC. The court granted them bail on June 23.
The unemployed youths had protested at Jaipur’s Shaheed Smarak to press for four separate demands. tnn
