Jvvnl: Power Connections Set To Cost More As Jvvnl Amends Rules | Jaipur News

Jaipur: Electricity connections are set to cost more both in rural and urban areas in several districts of the state as per the amended terms and conditions of Jaipur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (JVVNL) for the supply of electricity.
In flats (G+three) constructed on single small plots, electricity connections will be released now only on recovery of charges on a floor area basis and not as a single domestic unit.
“In case of multi-storied buildings/ flats are constructed on a plot on which initially lesser load was considered, where flat development was done, and individual flats/ floors are being sold to multiple entities, and more than one connection is required, the connection shall be released on recovery of charges on a floor area basis,” says the amended order.
This would affect the lower middle class as they purchase flats developed on small plots (ground plus three formats), which is common in Jaipur. This would result in cost escalation and may even dampen growth of the real estate sector. The move, coming at a time the government is organising inflation relief camps to provide people relief, has shocked many.
For three-phase LT (low tension) or single-phase connections in rural areas, consumers will now have to pay the cost of installation of lines and transformers. JVVNL said three-phase low tension supply to installations of up to 5 KW and more will be admissible in rural areas subject to the extension of ‘non-continuous’ supply, and that the cost of 11 KV lines would be borne by the applicant while the cost of the transformer will be borne by JVVNL. tnn
