JAIPUR: The state cabinet on Wednesday decided to relax rules and give government jobs to both the sons of Udaipur tailor Kanhaiya Lal, who was beheaded by two men on June 28.
Rules prescribe appointment of a single dependent of a person who died in 1992 or later in events like rebellion, terrorist attack, agitation, dharna, demonstration, and rallies. There is no provision for jobs to two persons from a single family.
A cabinet meeting chaired by CM Ashok Gehlot decided to relax the rules to accommodate both sons of Lal. The appointments will be done under Rule 6C of Rajasthan Subordinate Office Clerk Service (Amendment) Rules, 2008 and 2009. The meeting said the family is left with no other source of livelihood after Kanhaiya Lal’s murder.
The Cabinet also approved the proposal of the information and public relations department to issue new policy guidelines for issuing advertisements on news websites. At present, state advertisements are being issued in print and electronic media.
According to the new guidelines, the website must be registered with the directorate of advertising and visual publicity (DAVP). Also, 50 per cent of its total content should be news. Out of this 50 per cent, 25 per cent should be about the state. DAVP’s categories of A, B, and C shall be valid on the advertisements issued by the state government for its size and rate.
The cabinet approved the formation of the Rajasthan College Education Society (Raj-CES) for the operation and development of new government colleges under higher education.
A one-time special ex gratia has been approved by the cabinet for the rehabilitation of persons settled in fully submerged villages located in government land in the submergence area of Takli Medium Irrigation Project in Ramganj Mandi (Kota). Accordingly, Rs 21.12 crore will be paid to persons residing in Dadia, Dudkali, Tamoliya, Sarankhedi, Sohanpura, Talyabdi and partially submerged Raghunathpura villages.
The meeting said about 1,104 families of the submergence area will get a special ex gratia of Rs 1,91,375 per family. This will provide irrigation facilities to 7,800 hectares in 32 villages of Ramganj Mandi tehsil.
Ex-post facto approval was given to remove discrepancies of Assured Career Progression (ACP) of Police Telecom Subordinate Services (Assistant Sub-Inspectors and Head Constables). The conveyance allowance of specially abled state government employees was raised to Rs 1200 and ‘spinal deformity’ is included in the differently abled list.
