Kota: Man attacks brother with sword, then hangs self from tree | Jaipur News

KOTA: A 55-year-old man hanged himself to death from a tree in Motipura village under Kaithun police station of the district on Sunday night. The deceased man, identified as Rajkumar Sharma (55) , had earlier attacked his younger brother with a sword and caused him severe injuries during the same afternoon.
A dispute over paternal land was allegedly underway between the two brothers, identified as deceased Rajkumar and 40-year-old Manoj Kumar (40), who currently lived in Kota city, said sub-inspector at Kaithun police station Soor Singh.
Singh added, Rajkumar had stopped Manoj while he was going by car to take care of their agriculture land in Motipura village on Sunday noon. He pulled out Manoj from the car and thrashed him and then attacked him with a sword. Manoj was later taken to New Medical College Hospital in Kota for treatment, he added. Meanwhile, presuming his brother to be dead due to profuse bleeding after the attack, Rajkumar fled to a field nearby with a saree from his house and hanged himself from a tree, the SI said.
A passerby noticed the body hanging late Sunday night and informed the police and his family members, Singh added. The body was handed over to the family members of the deceased after the postmortem on Monday morning and a case has also been lodged.
