Kota Student Murder: Kota Student Murder: Body Given To Kin, 7 Minors Booked | Jaipur News

Kota: The body of 17-year-old Satyaveer Singh, the IIT-JEE aspirant allegedly thrashed to death by a group of coaching students in Kota’s Indira Nagar area on December 11, was handed over to his parents after a post-mortem examination late Tuesday. Based on the FIR filed by the deceased’s parents, seven suspects and some unidentified accused — all minor coaching students from Bihar and UP — were booked for murder.
A probe is underway and further action would be initiated after the collection of evidence and completion of the suspects’ interrogation, Kota ASP Sanjay Gupta said Wednesday, while refuting rumours about a gang of coaching students being active in the city.He said the murder was the fallout of a general scuffle between groups of coaching students to assert dominance.
The brawl erupted late Monday when Satyaveer was at a tea stall near his PG. Thereafter, some students attacked him with iron rods and chains, chased him for around 100m and assaulted him till he collapsed. Satyaveer was rushed to a hospital where he succumbed the same night.
