Kota to hold psychological tests in bid to stop student suicides | India News

KOTA: With the aim to check mounting suicide cases in Kota, the district administration has decided to conduct psychological tests of every coaching students every fortnight. The test will help spot suicidal tendencies among students in time and they could be provided with timely counselling.
The decision was taken at a meeting with representatives of coaching institutes, hostels and stakeholders, held on Saturday to review the implementation of norms for coaching centres and hostels.
The evaluation of every student would be done to ascertain his/her psychological status, and those found unstable would be provided counselling by experts, district collector OP Bunker said.
City SP Sharad Choudhary recommended forming an association of parents whose children are studying in Kota, which would stay in touch with the district administration to share concerns of their wards.
