Kota Tragedy: Kin Was Waiting To Welcome Bride, But Got Bodies | Jaipur News

The accident claimed the lives of nine, out of which six hailed from Jaipur. They had gone to join a wedding procession from Choth Ka Barwada area of Sawai Madhopur. Grief-stricken family and friends bid their final goodbyes to the deceased identified as Shubham, Rohit alias Amit and Kushal at Gautam Nagar.

For the families of the deceased, it was harsh to witness that their loved ones could not reach their destination. “Shubham was the brother-in-law of the bridegroom, Avinash, a native of Choth Ka Barwada in Sawai Madhopur (another deceased). He had purchased some good clothes and perfumes for the weddings,” said a relative of Shubham when the family members and relatives were preparing for the final rites.
The moment the three bodies from the different houses were taken out for the final rites, people were screaming and crying. “Marr giya re saara ka saara, arrey mhahara chora (all of them died, now what will happen to us),” said Rohit’s mother.
“Subah 7.30 baje phone aayo,” said griefing Subash, a relative of Kushal, on the Tonk Phatak cremation ground.
Congress leader Archana Sharma and PHED minister Mahesh Joshi also arrived to console the family. When Shubham’s wife was handed over a cheque, she pushed away from the cheque and was not able to accept the reality. “Mhaaro aadmi khatam hogo (my husband died),” she said.
Likewise, families of Rahul (25), a resident of Aamgarh near Transport Nagar (Jaipur), Vikas (24), a native of Janta Colony, and Mukesh, a native of Malviya Nagar, were not able to gather the fact that their children, who had gone for a wedding, were no more.
Meanwhile, at Choth Ka Barwada, where the family of Avnish was hoping to bring home a bride for him, were shocked to see the three bodies. A large number of people from the district administration, Sawai Madhopur, and PWD minister Bhajan Lal Jatav also reached out to the families.
