Kota tutor gets life till last breath for girl’s murder, sex assault bid | Jaipur News

KOTA: A POCSO court in Kota on Wednesday convicted a 28-year-old tutor to life term in jail till last breath for killing 15-year-old girl, whom he strangulated on February 13, 2022 after she had revolted against sexual assault at his house in Bajajkhana area in Kota.
The court awarded life term to Gaurav Jain (28), a BTech graduate and a resident of Bajajkhana area under Rampura city police station murder of the minor girl in February 2022, said special public prosecutor Mahaveer Kishanawat. The victim, a 9th class student, would visit his house daily for tuition.
The convict fled away after the crime and was arrested from Gurugram in Haryana after 9 days on February 22, 2022, when he was trying to enter his sister’s house and on the bases of his statements, police incorporated sections of POCSO Act in the already existing murder case under section 302 of IPC.
Taking note of the brutality of the murder and public sentiment against the accused tutor, the then city SP included the case under officer scheme for speedy trial and the state government deputed special public prosecutor Mahaveer Kishanawat for the case.
The murder of the minor had rocked the city with several organisations and public forums having staged protests and demonstrations for arrest and speedy trial of the case.
