Laxmangarh: Two Duped Of Lakhs By Sikar Cheaters In Different Cases | Jaipur News

Jaipur: Two persons were cheated in Naichwa and Laxmangarh police station areas in Sikar district by conmen. One person was cheated Rs 2.5 lakh by a man who claimed to be a travel agent and promised the victim a job in Canada. In another case, a man was promised treatment at Patanjali Yogpeeth by a cheater and asked him to pay Rs 3 lakh to book a hotel and later the man found himself cheated.
According to police, a man Srikumar Lakhotia had seen an online advertisement promising medication at Patanjali Yogpeeth at Haridwar. “The man on December 25 last year contacted on the number and shared about his ailment. He was asked to pay Rs 1.50 lakh for the reservation for a room. Later, he was said that the room he was wanting is of Rs 15,000 per day thus he was required to pay nearly Rs 1.20 lakh more. Thus, this man paid Rs 1 lakh more. Despite this when he was again asked to pay Rs 1 lakh more he got suspicious and lodged an FIR,” said a senior officer of Laxmangarh police station.
Police have also arrested a man for the cheating in this case on Thursday.
“The accused identified as Akhilesh Kumar is arrested on the charges of cheating. He is under interrogation,” the officer added.
In another case a labourer seeking job in abroad has lodged as case of cheating at Laxmangarh police station. “The victim Har Lal stated that from May 2022 to June 2022 he got various calls in which the caller took information about his profession and work. Later he was promised a job in Canada and was asked to pay Rs 2.5 lakh on various times for his VISA, passport and other documents. The victim used various UPI accounts of his known to transfer money and finally found himself cheated. When his efforts to recover his money back gone in vain he has lodged a case of cheating,” said an officer.
