Sethi Colony: 15 Inmates Flee From Washroom Window Of Juvenile Home In City | Jaipur News
JAIPUR: Fifteen inmates managed to evade security measures and escape from a juvenile observation home in Sethi Colony under the Transport Nagar police station area on Wednesday early morning.
Sources said some inmates had been quietly planning their escape for several days, targeting an old washroom window as their way of exit. “The inmates fled through a ventilation shaft in the washroom. They climbed onto the roof and crossed over the wall,” said DCP (East) Gyan Chandra Yadav.
He said some of the inmates had already received approval for their bail applications. “A total of five inmates had their bail applications approved,” he said.
The Jaipur police promptly issued an alert to all police stations regarding the escape. Additionally, authorities have been making efforts to contact the families of the escaped inmates. A team of FSL experts led by Abhay Pratap Singh also examined the scene.
The incident highlights the inadequate security arrangements at the observation home because a similar incident occurred a few days ago when the police filed an FIR against three private security guards for allegedly aiding the inmates to escape.
This particular facility has been involved in previous instances of escapes, but the latest breach has left the police shocked.
