Former VP: Rajvi May Use Former Vp’s Birth Anniv As Influence To Get Ticket | Jaipur News

Jaipur: Five-time BJP MLA Narpat Singh Rajvi, who was denied renomination from Vidhyadhar Nagar, is pinning hopes of his ‘status quo’ the centenary birth celebration of former VP Bhairon Singh Shekhawat, which will be held in Jaipur on October 23. Rajvi, son-in-law of Shekhawat, has expressed displeasure over his omission to contest from Vidhyadhar Nagar. He is expecting lakhs of people to attend the centenary event which will be seen as a display of his strength.
“Rajvi is reaping the legacy of Bhairon Singh Shekhawat ji. It is unclear whether the party will give him the ticket or not. The chances are that he might be put to the test in Chittorgarh, a seat that was won by him earlier. By October 23, the party is likely to bring out most of its seats, and if Rajvi doesn’t see his name in the probable options, he will react on the day of the centenary. The party doesn’t want to have any controversy around Shekhawat, who is considered the father of the party in Rajasthan,” said a source.
In a viral video of Rajvi, he can be heard saying that people will come to the centenary celebration. “What I will say to them (on him denying the ticket). The statement is a clear indication that his candidature is linked to the respect and regard the party has for Shekhawat.”
Sources said that before party in-charge Arun Singh met him at his residence, he stated that this (41 seats) is just the beginning. It was interpreted as giving tickets to candidates who were omitted from the list.
