Attempts Were Made To Buy Me: Meghwal | Jaipur News
JAIPUR: Rajasthan cabinet minister Govind Meghwal on Saturday claimed that he had also received phone calls to topple the Congress government in the state in 2020.
The minister was speaking at a party function attended by Congress’s Rajasthan co-in-charge Qazi Nizamuddin in Bikaner.
“Attempts were made to buy me, too. I must have the recording (of the phone call) as well. But I said, animals can be bought and sold, not human beings,” Meghwal said, to the loud cheer of Congress workers.
Chief minister Ashok Gehlot had earlier claimed that Congress MLAs were offered Rs 10 to 20 crore by the BJP to topple his government in 2020. Former deputy chief minister Sachin Pilot had rebelled against Gehlot along with 18 MLAs in July 2020.
Following the revolt led by him, Pilot was removed from the posts of deputy chief minister and the party’s state unit president.
