Maharaja College Labs Renovated After 6 Decades To Facilitate More Students | Jaipur News
JAIPUR: Science laboratories in University Maharaja College are being renovated after six decades which will now be able to accommodate more students, said college officials. The department of Chemistry is currently undergoing renovations to improve its laboratory facilities. The college has four laboratories in total and three have already been renovated. The ongoing renovation project aims to address long-standing issues such as leakage, water supply problems and inadequate accommodation for students.
“The renovations are necessary to provide our students with a conducive learning environment. The previous conditions made it difficult for students to perform practical experiments effectively. However, we expect that the completed renovations will facilitate their academic pursuit. After renovation the labs will be able to accommodate four times more students compared to now,” said a senior official from Maharaja College.
The ongoing lab renovation is likely to be finished by July/August, just in time for the new academic year. The improvements include the installation of new slabs, upgraded equipment and new desks. Additionally, the renovated labs will provide better storage space and a more spacious layout to accommodate the needs of students and faculty members.
Previously, the limited space and inadequate equipment posed challenges for conducting practical. With two batches running concurrently in the department, each lab can now accommodate up to 40 students, ensuring that they have sufficient room and resources to conduct experiments effectively.
“Before renovations, we often had to adjust students within the labs due to space and equipment constraints. However, after renovation, we are confident that the improved facilities will greatly enhance the teaching of the practical curriculum,” said Rishikesh Meena, vice-principal of Maharaja College.
The constituent colleges of University of Rajasthan have started preparing for the upcoming academic session with such renovations.
