No Repoll For 1st Time In 4 Assembly Polls | Jaipur News

Jaipur: For the first time in the last four assembly elections, no repoll is needed in Rajasthan, said state’s chief electoral officer Praveen Gupta.
One repoll was conducted in the 2018 assembly polls, seven repolls were held in 2013, and 128 repolls were conducted in 2008, according to data from the state’s election department.
“One repoll at Karanpur constituency’s polling booth No.163 was held on December 10, 2018,” said Gupta.“Scrutiny was conducted by observers on Sunday (November 26) in all 199 assembly constituencies. They arrived at the conclusion that no repoll is required this time,” he said.
Meanwhile, two cases of paid news were found to be true on Sunday, both against Sanganer’s Congress candidate Pushpendra Bhardwaj, said an official of the state’s election department. “The state MCMC (media certification and monitoring committee) has found the appeal of the district MCC to be genuine in this case,” the official added.
Data from the department also revealed that 21,101 complaints were received through the C-vigil app and 21,097 had been resolved. As many as 19,805 cases were resolved in just 100 minutes and four remain under process. Till November 26, seizures worth Rs 697 crore were reported.

Rajasthan assembly polls 2023: A look at key constituencies, contestants
Voters in Rajasthan are set to participate in the assembly elections on Saturday. The polling will take place in 199 out of 200 constituencies, with the fate of 1,875 candidates, including 183 female contestants, being decided. Notable constituencies to watch include Sardarpura, Tonk, Jhalarapatan, Nathdwara, Jhunjhunu, Jhotwara, and Churu. Rajasthan Congress President Govind Singh Dotasra will contest against BJP’s Subhash Mehria in the Lachhmangarh constituency. The BJP has fielded the Lok Sabha MP Mahant Balaknath from Tijara constituency. Around 45 rebel candidates from both parties are still in the fray.
