Jda: Parking Spots To Be Fixed At Laxmi Mandir Tiraha | Jaipur News

Jaipur: With the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) completing most of the work on signal-free traffic project at the Laxmi Mandir Tiraha, officials will soon start demarcating parking spots adjacent to one of the busiest crossings to ensure smooth traffic flow.
Officials are eyeing the vacant land adjacent to the bus stand on the Ajmeri Gate side of Tonk Road and the adjacent roads.
“After this project’s completion parking will be an important issue. The idea is to allow free flow of traffic on the Laxmi Mandir Tiraha. We don’t want vehicles to block Tonk Road and affect the traffic movement,” said a JDA engineer.
Even now, the land adjacent to the bus stand is used for parking. JDA officials will properly demarcate it for vehicles. It means, the space will become a parking lot on record. “We have no sanction to enhance the space. But in future JDA may think of multi-level parking facility even on this land,” the engineer added.
JDA would also recarpet the adjacent roads leading to Lal Kothi Sabzi Mandi and demarcate a few parking lots on these roads as well. Officials said JDA may ask officials of JMC-Greater to recarpet these roads and JDA would give finishing touches.
Officials said, if required, vehicles can be allowed to park even at the edge of the Tiraha where the Sahakar Marg ends as post completion no vehicles will be allowed to take a right turn from Sahakar Marh towards the Tonk Puliya.
“However, we are going to increase the breadth of the slip lane through which vehicles can take a left turn easily on Tonk Road from the Sahakar Marg towards Gandhi Nagar Tiraha,” the engineer said.
