Market Research: Ru Teachers Block University Gate Over Ops Deposit Clause | Jaipur News
JAIPUR: Teachers of all universities of the state, including the University of Rajasthan, have been protesting for the past six days against the condition set by the government of depositing back the employer’s contribution made in the now-scrapped new pension scheme (NPS) to avail benefit of the old pension scheme (OPS).
On Wednesday, the teachers at RU blocked the main gate of the university and protested on JLN Marg.
“Boycott of work continued for the sixth day today in protest against the condition of depositing the employer’s contribution amount for old pension restoration. We have been protesting outside the vice chancellor’s office for a week but there has been no response,” said Sanjay Singh, president of Rajasthan University Teachers Association (RUTA).
“Giving the benefits of the OPS only after depositing an amount of Rs 30 lakh to Rs 35 lakh is a big betrayal by the state government towards teachers,” said Rajendra Prasad, general secretary of RUTA. TNN
