Mayawati Hints At Forming Alliances | Jaipur News

In a press statement, Mayawati said, “Our party will emerge as a balance of power in the poll-bound states and will consider supporting parties which stand for protecting the rights of people.”
She said that the welfare of the poor, Dalits, religious minorities, especially Muslims and Christians and tribal communities, lies in a government formed by alliances. “Single-party governments become self-centred and arrogant. They tend to ignore the rights of the vulnerable. Their welfare is possible only in a coalition government,” Mayawati said.
She asked party leaders to be careful of big and established parties in the poll-bound states as they had made a habit of snatching away their party MLAs. The BSP won six seats each in the 2008 and 2018 assembly elections in Rajasthan and both times its MLAs merged with the Congress.
