Med Aspirant From Andaman Hangs Himself In Kota Hostel | Jaipur News

Kota: A 16-year-old boy preparing for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) in Kota for last 10 months, committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan at his hostel room in Mahaveer Nagar-I on late Saturday evening.
Jawahar Nagar police recovered the body late on Saturday night and kept it in the mortuary for post-mortem, which will be conducted after the arrival of his family members. However, police are yet to ascertain the reason behind the extreme step as no suicide note was recovered from his hostel room.
The deceased boy was identified as Navneet Naidu (16), a native of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. A class 12 student, the deceased had been preparing for NEET from a private coaching institute in Kota since September 2021 and living in a hostel room in Mahaveer Nagar – I, said Jawahar Nagar circle inspector (CI) Ramkishan Verma.
He further said, “When the teen did not receive repeated calls from his parents in Nicobar, they informed the caretaker of the hostel at around 10 pm on Saturday night following which the caretaker went to his room and peeped into it through a window. He found the boy hanging with a rope to the ceiling fan of his room.”
On information, the police reached the spot and placed the body in the mortuary for post mortem to be carried out after arrival of the parents, who were informed of the tragedy, he added.
Prima facie, the teen was under study stress. However, the exact reason would be clear only after receiving the post mortem report and investigation into the matter is over, he added.
