Medicos Demand Extra Classes: Medicos demand extra classes to meet attendance norm for exam | Jaipur News
Jaipur: Concerned over sizable number of medical students declared as ineligible to sit in examination as they did not fulfil the eligibility attendance criteria in Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Medical College, the Indian Medical Association (IMA) has written to medical education secretary and discussed the issue with SMS Medical College administration to resolve the problem and demanded extra classes for such students to complete their attendance criteria.
Recently, the SMS Medical College has taken strict action against absentee MBBS students in its community medicine department. Out of 245 students just two student of 2020 batch was found eligible for appearing in the community medicine examination due to not fulfilling attendance criteria. “It is a matter of concern for us as almost entire batch of student was declared ineligible for appearing in examination. We held a discussion with SMS Medical College principal Dr Rajeev Bagarhatta requesting to look into the matter,” Dr Rajneesh Sharma, who has been elected as president of Indian Medical Association (IMA) state branch recently. The phase-II for community medicine and forensic medicine for 2020 batch sought help of IMA state branch. They have demanded additional extra-classes in whatever mode feasible, and double posting in morning as well as in the evening so as to cover up the deficit of PSM clinical posting.
