Menaria, Aniket Feature In Central Zone Squad Of Duleep Trophy | Jaipur News

Jaipur: Rajasthan’s Ashok Menaria and Aniket Choudhary have been included in the Central Zone team for the Duleep Trophy to be played in Chennai next month. The state captain Menaria said that he was expecting the call-up after ending the Ranji Trophy 2019-20 on a high. “I was the highest run-getter from Rajasthan and in the Central Zone in that season. I was expecting the call that year but things came to a halt because of Covid-19. I am happy that I have been awarded for the performance that season,” said Menaria who scored 660 runs in eight games of Ranji Trophy 2019-20.
The 31-year-old left-hand batter added that age is no bar when it comes to national selection and he wishes to do well this season to create a chance for himself at the higher level.
Left-arm seamer Aniket said that it is a great opportunity for him to try and get himself noticed for Tests. “I have been doing pretty well in red-ball cricket for the last several seasons and this is the right opportunity to prove myself. The India team still requires a left-arm seamer and I feel I can be that bowler,” said Aniket. tnn
