Jaipur: A 15-year-old mentally challenged girl was gang-raped by two men in Rajsamand district.
IGP (Udaipur) Ajay Pal Lamba said that the police have arrested both the accused.
SP (Rajsamand) Sudheer Joshi said that the police filed the FIR on Wednesday when the family approached a police station with their complainant. “We swiftly moved our teams to track down suspects as soon as possible,” he said.
As per a senior official of the Rajasthan police, the incident happened on October 16 when the accused took the girl to a secluded location where they took turns to allegedly rape her.The father alleged that he was out of the home and approached the police as soon as he got to know about the matter.
Joshi said that the medical examination in the case was done by a medical board. However, district BJP president Man Singh Bareth alleged that the police did not register the FIR immediately.
Police, however, denied the allegations and said that such allegations were unfounded because the FIR was filed the same day the parents approached the police.
Police said that a detailed investigation was underway into the case. An official said, “The family claimed that their daughter was mentally challenged.” TNN
