Mercury: Temp Takes A Dip With Mild Showers; Lightning Kills 3 | Jaipur News

Jaipur/Jaisalmer: Mercury dipped across the state on Saturday when several districts witnessed thundershowers and also hail storm. Also, three persons lost their lives in Barmer after been struck in lightning. Heavy hail storm was witnessed in Barmer that affected normal life and crops in the region.
Three persons including a girl were killed in two seperate lightning cases at Barap Pada village in Sindhari area in Barmer. “Khejaram (22) and his niece Laxmi (5) were killed by lightning,” said a senior police officer.
In another incident in Barmer a 62-year-old man identifed as Shera Ram was killled at Chawa area under Sadar police station.
Heavy showers and hailstorm were witnessed in Barmer district, especially at Chauhatan, Baytu and other areas. The weather left the farmers worried as it has affected the crops in this region. With the prevailing western disturbances and anti-cyclonic circulation, mild to moderate showers were witnessed in almost 14 districts of the state on Saturday morning. However, Dungarpur remained hottest in the state where a maximum temperature of 36.2 degrees Celsius was recorded, the Met reports said.
People in Jaipur woke up amidst cloudy conditions which was followed by scattered rainfall across the city. In the morning a minimum temperature of 20 degrees Celsius was recorded, followed by an afternoon with a maximum temperature of 31.1 degrees Celsius.
In its forecast the Jaipur Met office said that partially cloudy conditions would be witnessed on Sunday. TNN
