Mercury to rise from Friday as wet spell begins to recede | Jaipur News
JAIPUR: Even as many places in the state witnessed gusty winds, hailstorm and rain for the fifth consecutive day on Tuesday, the Jaipur Met office stated that from June 2 (Friday), temperatures are likely to rise across the state as anti-cyclonic circulation and western disturbances will recede by then.
On Wednesday, only a few places in the state would see hailstorm, gusty winds and rainfall, the Met office said. Since May 25, the state has been witnessing strong winds, moderate showers and hailstorms which have caused the mercury to take a dip. “During this period none of the places witnessed maximum temperatures on or above 40°C,” said a Met department officer.
On Tuesday, most places in the state witnessed maximum temperatures below 35°C, except Chittorgarh, where a maximum temperature of 35.3°C was recorded.
People in Jaipur woke up to a pleasant morning with a minimum temperature of 23.9°C, almost 3.8 degrees below the normal notch. It was followed by a sunny yet pleasant afternoon with a maximum temperature of 32°C, almost 8 degrees below the normal for this time of the year. For the past five days, the weather has remained pleasant in and around Jaipur.
In terms of maximum temperature, Chittorgarh was followed by Dungarpur with 34.6°C, Churu 34.5°C, Udaipur 34.2°C, Sriganganagar 33.5°C, Tonk 33.2°C, Sikar 32°C, Barmer 30°C, Jodhpur 28.4°C, and Jaisalmer with 27.6°C.
In its forecast, the Jaipur Met office stated that mild to moderate showers and gusty winds will occur at some places in the eastern part of the state and at some places in the western part in the next 24 hours.
