Minor MP girl, sold twice in 5 months, rescued from Kota station | Jaipur News

KOTA: A 17-year-old girl from Madhya Pradesh, abducted from Katni over five months ago and sold twice in marriage during this period, was rescued by government railway police (GRP) personnel from Kota on Monday after she managed to flee from her second husband’s house following a suicide bid on Sunday.
The minor was produced before the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) which sent her to a shelter home. Her parents and the local police have also been informed.
The girl revealed being physically and mentally exploited to CWC members during counselling.
The Class 10 student, a resident of Katni under Kuthla PS in MP, had left her home for a fun trip following her board examinations, CWC chairperson Kaniz Fatima said. While she was waiting for a train at Katni station, a few youths befriended her and took her to a nearby park.
She was offered spiked food and drink and the girl fainted after consuming it. When she gained consciousness, she was with two other men and a woman in a hotel room in Ujjain. The trio bullied and threatened her and forced her to ‘marry’ a 27-year-old youth. After the ‘marriage’, her ‘husband’ said he paid Rs 2 lakh to the touts for her. The minor said her husband accidentally died after consuming pesticide in an agriculture field four months after their ‘marriage’.
Her so-called ‘in-laws’ restricted her to the house for a month to mourn her husband’s death and then got her married to another person in Sathalkhedi village in Kanwas area of Kota district.
The minor said her ‘second husband’ disclosed that he had paid Rs 3 lakh to her in-laws, Fatima said.
