Student Union: Court Notice Over Student Union Polls | Jaipur News

Jaipur: The Rajasthan high court on Tuesday issued notices to the state government, the higher education department, and the University of Rajasthan over the ban imposed on student union elections in the state. The court granted them one week’s time to submit their reply and listed the next hearing for September 13.
The single bench of Justice Inderjit Singh issued the notices while conducting preliminary hearing of a writ petition. Dron Yadav, counsel for the petitioner, said, “There are some essential questions to be addressed in our writ petition. Whether the government can issue such directions to not conduct any specific educational activity by stating their own failure? Whether or not student representation in university bodies is a fundamental right of the students?” TNN
