Jaipur: With their prices soaring, tomatoes are now on theives and burglars’ radar as noticed at the city’s Muhana Mandi, a wholesale market of fruits and vegetables.
Burglars broke into shop no 8 belonging to Hameed Qureshi, a wholesale dealer, and decamped with 150 kg of tomatoes last Friday. “They stole 6 crates, each containing 50-kg tomatoes. We have got CCTV footage of the theft in which two persons are seen taking away the crates,” Rahul Tanwar, president of Muhana Mandi Fal Sabzi terminal told TOI on Monday.
“The owner of shop no 8 saw the CCTV footage available in the hard disk and found two masked men stealing the crates around 3am on July 8,” Tanwar said.
