Don’t Send Covid Patients, Treat On Your Own: Ruhs To Pvt Hosps | Jaipur News

JAIPUR: RUHS Hospital has complained to the medical education department that private hospitals capable of treating Covid patients were referring them to it, evn though RUHS is no longer a dedicated Covid facility. The department will now have to direct private hospitals to treat Covid patients on their own.
The state has been witnessing a spike in Covid cases in April. The death toll in the last 26 days rose to 37 on Wednesday as three more deaths were reported in the state, one each from Barmer, Bharatpur and Dausa districts. In the last 24 hours, 498 persons tested positive for the virus.
“Private hospitals are shifting Covid patients to our hospital, which is no longer a dedicated Covid facility. We have complained about these hospitals which are capable of treating patients on their own and a lot of them had treated patients during earlier waves,” said Dr Ajit Singh, medical superintendent, RUHS Hospital.
Private hospitals which have not created their Covid isolation ward as yet are shifting patients to RUHS Hospital, officials said.
Doctors treating Covid patients pointed out that most of them did not require hospitalisation as they were recovering under home isolation.
In the last 24 hours, more persons recovered compared to people who tested positive. In all, 604 persons recovered from Covid in the past 24 hours, officials said.
Jaipur reported 110 new cases on Wednesday, followed by Udaipur (46), Ajmer (41), Chittorgarh (38), Bharatpur (37) and Jodhpur (35).
