Nahargarh: Nahargarh Big Cats To Be Shifted | Jaipur News
Jaipur: Wild cats including tiger Nahar, tigress Rambha and lioness Suhasini will be shifted to Abheda Biological Park in Kota from Nahargarh Biological Park. A team of forest department officials from Kota is expected to reach Jaipur on Monday. There is a possibility that out of three, the forest department will shift two big cats.
According to sources, the department has started preparations after receiving the approval from the Central Zoo Authority (CZA). The decision has surprised many within the forest department as after the big cats are shifted, future of biological park in Jaipur will be bleak. A forest staff said, “The decision to shift these big cats was taken after the Nahargarh gained notoriety in past after five tigers, five lions, six leopards died at the park in three years. Apart from these, other animals have also died.”
To repopulate the empty cages, the officers earlier had attempted to bring more big cats from Maharashtra and Gujarat. For the same, approval was also sought, however, the proposal was turned down. TNN
