NEET aspirant kills self in Kota, third suicide in four days | Jaipur News

KOTA: A 17-year-old boy from Patna, who had been preparing for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) in Kota for over a year, hanged himself from the ceiling fan in his PG room in Krishna Vihar, near Landmark City, on Thursday night. This is the third suicide in the coaching city in four days.
Police recovered the body of Navlesh on Friday morning and sent it to MBS Hospital for autopsy. In a suicide note, the teen stated that stress because of studies and despair over being unable to perform well in routine tests at the coaching centre drove him to take the extreme step, Kunhari SHO Ganga Sahay Sharma said.
The SHO said that his performance in tests at the institute showed that he had scored poorly.
Navlesh met his classmates on Thursday evening but had not shown any signs of uneasiness. However, when he didn’t come out of his room till Friday morning, the caretaker of the PG accommodation informed cops around 11am. Police rushed to the spot and broke open the door to find him hanging from the ceiling fan, said the SHO.
On Wednesday, NEET aspirant Dhanesh Kumar Sharma (15), a class 11 student from Khurja town in UP’s Bulandshahr district hanged himself in a hostel in Landmark City. On Monday, a 22-year-old NEET aspirant, Mohammed Nasid from Bengaluru, died after falling off the 10th floor of a building. He had been studying at a coaching institute for over a year.
