Netflix: Plaint Against Gehlot For Violating Code Of Conduct | Jaipur News
Jaipur: The state BJP on Monday lodged a complaint with the Election Commission against CM Ashok Gehlot for allegedly violating the model code of conduct by asking people to give a missed call on a number for availing of seven guarantees announced by him recently. A delegation of the BJP met with state chief electoral officer (CEO) Praveen Gupta and told him that any scheme announced by a political party that could influence voting was against the code.
“This is a complete violation of the MCC and also comes under the category of corrupt practices under Section 123 of the Representation of the People Act 1951,” said Rajendra Singh Shekhawat, convenor of the party’s prabudhjan cell.He said that CM Gehlot, through his X ID @ashokgehlots, wrote a message asking common people to make a missed call on number 8587070707 to avail seven guarantees. “Enticing the general public to register for such guarantee schemes is not only a violation of themodel code of conduct but also a criminal act,” said Shekhawat.
