‘new Govt May Appoint Ad Hoc Panel To Run Rca’ | Jaipur News

Jaipur: As the state gears up to embrace the leadership of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for the next five years, it is only a matter of time that Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) will also see a change in the ruling regime. The incumbent Vaibhav Gehlot and his team, which came to power in 2019 October and was re-elected unopposed in December 2022, will have to ‘exit soon’, says the veterans who have seen the functioning of the association over the past many years.
“The RCA elections took place after three years and three months and this is against the state sports Act.The Vaibhav-led team fraudulently made changes to the law to suit their interests. According to the Sports Act, if the committee extends their tenure even by a day once they complete three years, an ad hoc panel is formed. So, the Rajasthan government can, at any time, dissolve RCA’s executive committee. Later, fresh elections will be held,” said a source.
“Earlier, no action was taken as RCA president was outgoing chief minister Ashok Gehlot’s son. It was their government in power. We will now write to the registrar and an action will be taken against Vaibhav’s team,” an anti-Gehlot RCA official said on condition of anonymity.
BJP leader and former Rajasthan sports minister Gajendra Singh Khimsar’s son Dhananjai is favourite to become the next RCA president. He is the president of the Nagaur District Cricket Association (NDCA)
It is an open truth that the state cricket body is heavily influenced by what happens on the political field.
