Ngo Giving Free Coaching In Raj Univ Approaches Guv For Space | Jaipur News

Jaipur: An NGO that started free coaching for competitive exams on the University of Rajasthan premises, has now approached the governor requesting for space to conduct their classes.

Last month, the university had asked the NGO to stop the classes as the organisation had taken more students than the existing capacity. Around 20,000 students registered for offline classes. Now the NGO is seeking space where they can conduct these classes. In February, RU in collaboration with Ek Pahal India had announced that it will start competitive exams’ free coaching classes for students across the state through online mode.
Last month, the offline classes in RU were stopped after the university administration said the NGO was putting unnecessary pressure on it by getting student leaders to demand for furniture, water facilities, Wi-Fi facilities whereas no MoU had been signed between the university and the NGO.

Dev Amit Singh, national president of Ek Pahal India said, “We started the coaching classes in RU first, but the university stopped us due to space constraints. We had around 5,000 students from the university, coming in for the classes. We have asked the governor to allot us space where we can conduct free coaching classes for at least 20,000 students throughout the day so that the monopoly of coaching institutes can be broken. Also, we will be telecasting these classes online for students from other colleges and universities so that they can also get free and good coaching.” Singh said the governor has assured them that his office would look into their request and help them in finding space.
He further said that over 1 lakh students have registered with the NGO for these free coaching classes. For these free classes, many students from nearby districts like Ajmer, Tonk, Nagaur and even Jaipur outskirts had shifted to the capital city and made arrangements for accommodation for three-four months. On Monday, students registered for the free coaching classes protested at Bais Godam before submitting a memorandum to the governor’s office.
