NIA raids in 5 districts of Rajasthan over terror-gangster nexus | Jaipur News

JAIPUR: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted raids at several locations in Rajasthan in connection with the crackdown on the terror-gangster-smugglers network in various states on Wednesday.

Several teams carried out raids in the five districts of Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Jhunjhunu, Sriganganagar and Hanumangarh, which share borders with Punjab and Haryana. The raids were conducted in cases against the associates of gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi, Bambiha, and listed Khalistani ter rorist Arsh Dalla, among others. The others under scanner were notorious gangsters Sukha Duneke, Harry Maur, Narender alias Lali, Kala Jatheri and Deepak Tinu.
A state police officer said the agency began the raids early in the morning and interrogated over a dozen suspects. “Nearly eight locations in Sriganganagar district were searched and many suspects, who allegedly had connections and hawala funding from online Khalistani platforms and networks, were interrogated,” the officer said.
In Jaisalmer district, a man from Chhayan village was detained for allegedly contacting a Canada-based Khalistani group, a senior officer said. “He was questioned and he said that he had received a missed call on WhatsApp. But when he called back, he failed to make contact. The team left after questioning him,” he said. Three student leaders were also interrogated in Gajsinghpur, Lalgarh, and Sadulshahr police station areas for their alleged connections with the nexus. Similarly, a suspect was interrogated in Kosana village of Pipar Seher tehsil in Jodhpur district.
NIA targeted weapon suppliers, financiers
Sources said that the agency detained several suspects during the massive multi-state crackdown. Pistols, ammunition, a large number of digital devices and others incriminating ma terial were seized during these raids.
The national investigation agency’s action focused on weapon suppliers, financiers and logistics providers associated with various hardcore gangs related to drug sm uggling and terror outfits based in Pakistan, the UAE, Canada, Portugal and other countries, he said.
