‘no Fertilisers For Farmers In Raj, Urea Being Sent To Punjab’ | Jaipur News

Jaipur: With farmers facing difficulty trouble in procuring seeds in the rabi crop sowing season, the farmer association have now alleged that they are not getting urea and DAP fertilizers for harvest. The association from Sriganganagar have written to the DM stating that the crop fertilizers are allegedly passed on to farmers from Punjab instead of Rajasthan.
On Monday, a delegation of the United Kisan Morcha met the district administration and handed over the demand letter. The farmers noted that presently sowing of rabi season crops is going on in which mainly wheat, mustard and gram are there and farmers need DAP fertilizer for wheat sowing.
Along with this, mustard first requires urea along with water, but at present the farmer is neither getting DAP nor urea and even if it is available somewhere, the shopkeepers and cooperative societies are forcibly giving other products to the farmer. which is of no use to the farmer.
Along with this, the association alleged that a large quantity of DAP (diammonium phosphate) fertilizer and urea is being sent away to Punjab, over which the administration has no control.
“At present, the economic condition of the farmers is already bad because the cotton crop has been completely destroyed, but still private shopkeepers and cooperative societies are forcing the farmer to go for lower quality of products. If the district administration does not take immediate action on this, then the United Kisan Morcha will begin an agitation against the administration and will stage an indefinite strike at the district collector office as soon as the code of conduct is removed,” said Amar Singh, member of the association.

Apple farmers of Upla Taknor demand modified crop insurance norms
Farmers in the Upla Taknor region of Uttarkashi district in India are demanding modifications to the Weather Based Crop Insurance Scheme (WBCIS). They argue that the present norms do not benefit apple farmers in the area, as they are outdated and do not cover the period when the crop suffers the most damage. Additionally, the scheme does not cover crops damaged by wild animals and does not provide insurance for kidney bean crops. However, the chief horticulture officer of Uttarkashi stated that modifications can only be made at the state-level.
