No One Should Use Abusive Language For His Rivals: Pilot | Jaipur News
JAIPUR: Congress leader Sachin Pilot continued his barbs at chief minister Ashok Gehlot on Friday.
Pilot said, politicians should choose their language carefully. No one should use abusive or insulting language for his opponents, he said.
He was speaking at a Yuva Sangram organised by the Maharaja College Students Union after inaugurating the union office at the college.
He was covertly referring to the ‘nakara and nikamma’ words used for him by Gehlot during the political crisis in 2020.
Gehlot the other day described the rebellion by pilot against him in 2020 as ‘a big Corona’ in the party.
Pilot said, he never compromised on exposing his opponents, but never used insulting and abusive language against them.
Without naming Gehlot, he said, “You all know what was used about me. I have come among you. I am elder than you, it is my duty to say the right things and inculcate good values in you. Your upbringing should be such that you give respect to others. If you give respect, you will get respect,” he said.
Pilot said one should always have control over his tongue and such words or language should not be spoken for others that cannot be tolerated for self. He said words once spoken cannot be taken back.
He said, elders should think about the younger generation, young people should get a chance and justice should be done with them. Language, thoughts and actions should be such that the future generation can be proud of, the former Union minister added.
He referred to the resignation of New Zealand’s Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern as an example.
He said, Ardern was appointed to the top post only eight years ago and is very young but still stepped down because of her low ranking in opinion poll and decided to quit and work for her party instead.
He also praised former Congress president Sonia Gandhi, saying in 2004, she had called 15-20 young leaders, including him, to discuss their aspirations to be included in the party’s election manifesto.
Pilot said, he struggled for five years from 2013 to 2018 and that was one of the reasons why the Congress succeeded in forming the government in Rajasthan.
He asked the youngsters whether he was lacking in “ragdai” (struggle).
“Ragdai” was one of the terms Gehlot had used for Pilot in the context of his political grooming.
Pilot said he visited different districts in the last few days, addressed various “kisan sammelan” and got a huge response from people. He said he did not target any individual at these events and only raised the issues of farmers.
Later, talking to reporters, Pilot said the Congress is united in Rajasthan and expressed confidence that the party would retain power in the state. He emphasized on strengthening the party saying it is the party that forms the government and not the other way around.
The Congress leader also said qualified people should be appointed in institutions, such as the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC), and boards that are related to youngsters so that incidents of paper leaks do not take place.
