No Proposal To Fix Quota For Locals In State Services: Govt | Jaipur News

JAIPUR: To a question asked by Congress MLA Rajkumar Sharma if the state government had proposed to fix 100% reservation for Rajasthan candidates or a quota for candidates from other states for appointment in the state services, the department of personnel (DOP) replied on Monday that there “was no such proposal currently under consideration”.
The question asked by the MLA was – does the government propose to fix 100 per cent reservation for the candidates of the state or a minimum percentage of (quota) for candidates from other states for appointment in government services? The department replied, “According to Article 16(2) of the Constitution of India, there cannot be discrimination in public employment on the basis of place of residence and according to Article 16(3) of the Constitution, only Parliament has the right to make legal provision in public employment on the basis of place of residence.”
To another question on no restriction on candidates of all states other than Rajasthan to apply or get appointment in recruitment exams by RPSC or Rajasthan Staff Selection Commission or various departments/state undertakings in the state?
The department replied, “Except for ministerial, subordinate and class IV services of TSP area, there is no restriction on the candidates of other states to apply or get appointment on unreserved 36% posts in the recruitment of Rajasthan state.”
