No respite from heat, Jaisalmer logs 46 degree Celsius | Jaipur News
JAIPUR: There was no respite from scorching heat for the fourth consecutive day on Saturday in the state. Jaisalmer remained hottest at 46°C. However, in the evening some districts – Churu, Bikaner, Sikar and some parts of Jaipur witnessed high velocity winds, dust storms and drizzle. Jaipur Met office said that people can expect respite on Sunday.
The Met office said that active western disturbances and anti-cyclonic circulation may be responsible for places in Bikaner and Jaipur divisions to get dust storm and rainfall on Sunday.
People in Jaipur witnessed hottest morning of the season so far as a minimum temperature of 26.3°C was recorded. It was followed by a scorching afternoon with maximum temperature touching 43.6°C. However, in the evening after 6.30pm cloud cover with high velocity winds in and around Jaipur gave some respite. Some parts of the city also received light showers.
On Saturday most places witnessed temperature rise as none of the places had maximum temperature below 40°C.
Jaipur Met office said that from Tuesday mercury will take an upward swing.
