Noc: Buildings without fire NOC will be sealed, warns JMC-Greater | Jaipur News
JAIPUR: The fire committee of JMC-Greater in a meeting on Wednesday decided that any building without a fire NOC will be sealed in the city.
In the meeting, a proposal for opening a new fire station at Vaishali Nagar was also approved with the aim of improving fire safety measures in the city.
Paras Jain, chairperson of the fire safety committee, announced that the JMC-Greater will open the state’s first fire training centre. The fire safety committee of JMC-Greater met after over one-and-half years.
“With expansion of Jaipur city, fire safety measures also need to be expanded in the city and for this, the corporation is in the planning to open the state’s first fire training centre where different stakeholders will be trained on how to deal with fire, use equipment. For continuous inspection of all industries, schools, colleges, hospitals and other high-rise buildings in Jaipur-Greater area, a joint team of deputy commissioner fire, chief fire officer along with committee members will also be formed and proceedings will be started,” said Jain.
He further said that institutions, that have already taken fire NOC, but have not installed fire safety equipment or existing equipment are not working properly; action will be taken against them too.
In the meeting, proposals were also passed regarding renewal of fire stations, maintenance of vehicles, install necessary firefighting equipment in the corporation headquarters.
“A meeting will also be held with the heads of industrial organisations and the citizens of JMC-Greater area, in which necessary suggestions will also be obtained from them on how to make our city safer from fire mishaps. It was also decided to write to the rules and by-laws committee of the corporation to make rules for the proceedings of the challans, in case of institutions not taking fire NOC or complying with fire safety rules,” added Jain.
