NOTA: NOTA exceeds victory margin on 13 seats | Jaipur News

JAIPUR: In 13 assembly constituencies, the winning margin has been less than NOTA (none of the above). This includes the seat of Congress heavyweight Harish Chaudhary and RLP supremo Hanuman Beniwal. A total of 3,82,066 votes were cast for NOTA, accounting for about 0.96 % of the votes.
Hanuman Beniwal prevailed over BJP’s Rewant Ram Danga by 2,059 votes while NOTA got 2,130 votes.
In Nasirabad, BJP candidate Ramswaroop Lamba’s victory margin over Congress’s Shiv Prakash Gurjar was only 1,135 while the number of NOTA votes was 1,392.
In Kathumar, Congress contestant Sanjana was defeated by 409 votes by BJPs Ramesh Khinchi while NOTA got 738 votes. Congress minister Arjun Singh Bamaniya got a narrow victory by 1,400 votes against BJP’s Dhan Singh Rawat.
Former Congress minister Harish Chaudhary had a narrow escape from the jaws of defeat by 910 votes against his nearest rival Ummeda Ram Beniwal of the RLP. In this constituency, the NOTA was 2,173 votes. There were similar results in other constituencies. tnn
