Nurses Demand Hike In Salaries, Warn Of State-wide Protest | Jaipur News

Jaipur: Nurses on Saturday threatened to launch a state-wide agitation from July 10 if their demands were not fulfilled by the state government. The nurses protested at SMS Hospitaland said they will hold a meeting of State Joint Sangharsh Samiti (SJRS) on July 10 to review the progress on their demands.
On the call of the SJRS, many nursing officers, nursing tutors, auxiliary nurse midwives, lady health volunteers and nursing students protested vociferously for two hours, shouting slogans to attract the attention of the state government to act on the eleven-point demand letter.
Livid over the neglect by the government the nurses boycotted work for two hours at the main gate of SMS Hospital regarding their 11-point demands.
Nurses’ leader Pyarelal Chaudhary said that the demands include pay scale like the Centre, cadre review, removal of pay anomalies, salary of nurses engaged through placement in medical colleges to be increased to Rs 26,500. Another leader Ramesh Saini said nursing students want increase in stipend.
