NWR: Centralised Disaster Mgmt Room Started In Nwr | Jaipur News

Jaipur: A centralised disaster management room equipped with the latest information system and resources was inaugurated at the headquarters of North Western Railway (NWR) on Tuesday. This disaster management war room will act as a single window system for exchange of information in case of any accident or disaster in railways, said officials.
Vijay Sharma, general manager of NWR inaugurated the room and said, “This room will not only be helpful in the time of disaster or accident but will also be helpful in monitoring safe travel in railway operations.”
Officials said that in the disaster management room, seating arrangements have been made for 25 to 30 officers of all departments of the Railways, satellite connected TV sets, modern communication system, intercommunication, presentation screens have been installed. Emergency arrangements have been made for power backup, so that in case of any accident or disaster, immediate action can be taken, and help can be provided.
Shashi Kiran, chief public relations officer of NWR said “After an accident on the railways, information is exchanged every moment between the heads of departments and other officials until the railway operations are restored. With the establishment of this room, necessary assistance and decisions can be taken quickly by establishing coordination through a single window system. This will help us restore railway facilities for public at the earliest.”
