Nwr Installs Anemometers At 33 Stations | Jaipur News

Jaipur: The North Western Railway (NWR) has installed 33 anemometers at railway stations to measure wind speed due to extreme windy conditions prevailing in the state since past few days.
The devices have been installed at 33 stations of Rewari-Ringas-Phulera-Madar, Jaipur-Phulera and Madar-Palanpur railway sections of NWR, said officials on Thursday. Officials said that this will help in safe operation of double stack containers on windy sections and large railway bridges.
“Currently strong winds are blowing in most parts of Rajasthan and the meteorological department is continuously issuing alerts for strong winds and rain. So there is a possibility of affecting the safety due to imbalance of double stack (decker) container due to high wind speed. Therefore, at such stretches these devices have been installed to check the wind speed in coordination with the Met,” said Shashi Kiran, chief public relations officer of NWR. TNN
