49% Of 60+ People Get Booster Dose | Jaipur News

JAIPUR: In 34 days since booster doses were launched, 49.4% of the eligible older people with comorbidities for booster doses have received their shots.
The health department is focusing more on vaccinating old people with booster doses as majority of deaths happened in the state were reported were 60+ population in the third wave of Covid. Besides,38.7% of eligible healthcare workers (HCWs) and frontline workers (FLWs) received booster doses.

The booster doses progress among elderlies were better than the booster doses administered in HCWs and FLWs. In 13 days of February, the percentage of eligible HCWs and FLWs who have received booster doses has increased from 34.1% to 38.7% with an increase of 4.6% while eligible elderlies (60+) with comorbidities the booster dose coverage has increased from 37.7% to 49.4% in 13 days.
Dr Raghuraj Singh, project director (vaccination), health department, said, “Around 50% of the eligible elderly population (60+) have not received booster doses. We are taking measures to increase it further. Since elderlies are the most vulnerable for complication due to Covid, they need to take the booster doses.”
