Operation Management Player: Palace On Wheels To Start Season’s Journey On Wed | Jaipur News

Jaipur: Palace on Wheels will start its maiden tour of the season on September 27 with 66 passengers on board. This would also be the first journey of the luxury train by an operation and management player.
Earlier, the train was run by Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation in partnership with the Railways.
Sources said that with 66 passengers on board out of total 82 seats, this is one of the highest occupancies in any of the first journeys of the season. The luxury train operates from September to April.
RTDC appointed an operation and management player through a competitive tendering process. Cube Construction Engineering Ltd won the bid to run the train for 5 years.

Trial run of train
The second trial run of India’s indigenously designed semi high-speed train, Puri-Rourkela Vande Bharat Express, will take place on Wednesday. The train is expected to start operating at the end of this month, running six days a week. With a route from Puri to Rourkela, covering a distance of 505km, the train had stoppages at various stations including Khurda Road, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, and Dhenkanal.

In other news, trial runs of the Puri-Rourkela Vande Bharat Express and the Hyderabad-Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express have been conducted successfully. A railway official in Mumbai saved a woman’s life after she fell while trying to board a moving train.
Train coach catches fire, passengers safe
A fire broke out in the Humsafar Express train in Valsad, Gujarat. Passengers pulled the chain to stop the train and were safely evacuated. The fire started in the power car and spread to the adjoining coach. No casualties were reported, but some passengers lost their luggage. The affected coach was detached from the train, and the train continued its journey after a delay. The exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
