Paleontology: Lawrence Aide Fears Reprisal For Breaking Gang’s No-woman Code | Jaipur News

JAIPUR: A henchman of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi has expressed concerns about potential retaliation from his overlord for violating the gang’s strict code of not associating with women outside the group. The 28-year-old Ravinder Singh, alias Kali, was taken into custody on Wednesday for allegedly intimidating two doctors in Jaipur to extort Rs 50 lakh each in collaboration with a woman.
Driven by her ambition to secure a substantial sum of money for her political aspirations of becoming the mayor of Jaipur, 25-year-old Kushbu Chelani sought Kali’s assistance while he was incarcerated in a Punjab jail. She had connected with Kali on Instagram.
“Chelani established a friendship with him on Instagram because she was aware of his status as a hardcore criminal. They have been communicating via Instagram for the past four years,” a senior police officer said Thursday.
According to police sources, Bishnoi had cautioned his core group members against engaging with women due to the perceived threat that such relationships posed to the secrecy of their syndicate. Initially, Kali had denied any involvement in the extortion scheme, but he later admitted that Chelani had provided him with the contact information of the two doctors.
Apart from Chelani and Singh, police have also arrested a shooter known as Rahul, alias Mini Petrol, and his accomplice Harsh Bhadu, who allegedly aided in conducting reconnaissance for the extortion plot.
“Kali shared the phone numbers of the two doctors with his associates in the UK and USA. They then made intimidating calls to Dr Shyam Sunder Agarwal on August 16 and Dr Sunit Shah on August 24,” an officer said.
In response to the extortion calls, the Indian Medical Association (IMA) in Jaipur has issued an appeal to doctors, urging them not to remain silent if subjected to such threats. It requested doctors to promptly report to police and IMA.
