Paleontology: Postal Ballot For People Above 80 Only | Jaipur News

Jaipur: The Election Commission, making amendments to the conduct of election rules, 1961, has changed the definition of senior citizens.
According to the amendments, only those above 80 years of age shall be considered as senior citizens, instead of those ‘above 65 years’.
This means only those voters above 80 years of age can opt for postal ballots during elections, said Praveen Gupta, chief electoral officer (CEO), Rajasthan.
Also, according to amended rules, a “person with disability” means a person with benchmark disability as defined in clause (r) of section 2 of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, and flagged as ‘person with disability’ in the data base, said Gupta.
