Jaipur: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) could include several influential individuals, including bureaucrats and relatives of politicians, under the ambit of its ongoing probe into the RPSC senior teacher paper leak case.
A source said that the agency’s recently concluded searches in 28 places led to the seizure of significant documents that have the potential to broaden the scope of the investigation.
The agency has already recorded statements of over two dozen people in this case and may quiz others very soon as its probe progresses in the coming days. The central agency’s investigation also differs from the state police’s probe because one of the primary areas of focus for the ED is the examination of money laundering in the paper leak racket and the role of the accused, such as Babu Lal Katara, who was held for leaking the questions.
Sources said that the ED probe also delves into possible illicit transactions which may have influenced Katara’s appointment to the RPSC. The central agency has also begun looking into Katara’s roles and responsibilities assigned to him by the commission, like organizing the senior teacher’s recruitment exam.
